Softail Conversions

Here is a cobra rigid converted to softail and to take a 250 rear tyre

Our softail conversions are applicable to any ‘conventional’ shovel / panhead type big twin frame- the centrepost type- whether it is a factory or custom swingarm or rigid. 

We cut the frame under the gearbox and at the seatpost and graft on the same parts that we use on our complete softail frames which are built around stock Harley dimensions. 

The rearend can be made to accept any rear wheel setup. We use stock Harley swingarm bearings and set it up to accept stock type softail shocks . All our framework is made of quality seamless tube and is T.I.G. welded in accurate jigs

 We can, at the same time, offset the gearbox to accommodate a fat rear tyre.

The price for converting a factory frame is now 600 inclusive. We sometimes shotblast aftermarket frames to expose any cracks and check engine and gearbox mounts for proper alignment as they do vary greatly in quality. This increases the price to 630.

We can also alter your shovel type frame to provide clearance for Evo engines, and to accept 5 speed gearboxes.

It is usually necessary to move the drain plug on four speed gearbox cases to clear softail shocks, depending on model. There is an extra charge for this.
